TRAIN/GIG TICKETS STILL AVAILABLE - ACCOMMODATION SOLD OUT

A fantastic steam weekend on the West Somerset Railway - with trip aboard a steam train, beer festival, big strum and singalongs, workshop and concert performances.

Prices - Saturday Train Trip Ticket (with beer festival entry) £49.50, Friday & Saturday Evening Entertainment Ticket £49.50. This means if you opt for both tickets, for the full weekend it’s £99 per person.

THE EVENT

All aboard the fabulous UKE Express, travelling from Minehead to Bishops Lydeard and back, on board private carriages full of ukulele playing! Kick off the weekend on Friday 27th of September with a Big Strum and Singalong from the Ukulele Events songbook at the Minehead & District Social Club, followed by performances from Kitty Stewart and Dead Mans Uke. Then on Saturday, steam through the beautiful West Somerset countryside, enjoying sea views as you play along to our carefully curated songbook!

Arriving at Bishop’s Lydeard, we’ve arranged a concert by Lester T. Web (aka Matt Hicks) at the local brewery, where you can purchase a range of real ales and ciders, and grab a bite to eat, plus a good singalong together with our ukuleles.

Then, back aboard for another musical journey on the return leg to Minehead, where we’ll have a great night’s entertainment from Warehouse of Theives, including a workshop for all - again at the Minehead & District Social Club in the centre of town.

Note - capacity is limited to 90 at the club. Tickets for the two club nights and the train are sold separately, so it is possible to buy tickets for the train only, or for both train and club nights.

ACCOMMODATION

There is loads of choice when it comes to staying in the seaside town of Minehead, from top hotels to campsites. We have reserved a number of rooms at the Beach Hotel, close to both the station and the social club. The hotel has 13 rooms, 3 of which are being used by the organisers, but the rest of the hotel is booked out for ukulele players, if you fancy joining us there!

The accommodation is on a bed and breakfast basis. All of the rooms are doubles which we’ve paid for in advance (so unfortunately we can’t offer a single supplement as they’ve all had to be paid for in full). All tickets are sold separately, so you’ll need to add event tickets as well as your room.
